- Parents and students:
- All the sparring equipment that you see in
class is mine except for a few students own
theirs. What I have
is getting very dilapidated, especially the helmets.
I don’t have the funds to purchase new gear nor is our host going
to provide it. Below is a
recommended vendor with
recommended items and prices. If
you get your child or yourself anything, get the mouth and shin/instep
pads first. I have lost
younger students in the past because they bang their shins and don’t
want to come back to class.
As some of you know, I try to see that they wear my son’s and my
personal shin pads so they don’t get banged up.
The class is really growing and it takes away from our 1-hour class
to prep each student for sparring. You
may notice that the ones that have their own gear may get more sparring
time and that’s because their all ways ready to go in the ring while
others are getting the gear on. The recommended gear is what is required
for those that may wish to compete in any TKD competitions
