On Sunday 18 August, Advance Auto on North Main Street was the host for their fourth annual auto show fundraiser for Juvenal Diabetes Foundation (JDF) . Manager Art Bright said this is far the best to date and that last year nation wide that Advance Auto raised over $800,000.00 for JDF. Mustang Club, Xtreme Ponys was the organizer for the event and had a proud showing of the newest to some the older Ford Mustangs from the community. Joshua Scribner president of the club was pleased with the turnout of 44 cars, with California being the farthest away. A donation of a $10.00 registration fee was required to compete in the various divisions with a first and second place trophy for the winners. Raffle tickets were included in the registration and tickets were sold to spectators. The trophies were donated by Tiger Tom’s and the prizes, included a DVD player, all were donated by local businesses. Registration started at 10 am and the judging was from noon to 2pm. The awards were passed out at 3pm. Art Bright said the foreign imports were the toughest division to judge with the low rider-super audio systems-metal flake paint jobs and custom body kits. Xteme Ponys also provided concessions for the day which anyone would find hard to turn down the smell of grilling hotdogs. Sonic passed out complementary cups of ice-cream.
